Orders & Shipping

How long does it take for my order to ship?

Orders received Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm CST are processed and shipped within 5–7 business days, depending on stock and shipping method. Orders placed after hours or on holidays may take a little longer. We recommend calling or emailing to confirm stock before purchasing.

What if an item is backordered?

We’ll email you if we can’t ship on time. You can keep the order open until inventory arrives, or cancel for a full refund as long as the order hasn’t left our facility. Orders can’t be cancelled for a full refund once they’re released to the carrier.

What are your delivery options and rates?

We deliver within the contiguous U.S. (excluding Alaska and Hawaii).

  • Curbside (liftgate), $99 flat rate: the carrier lowers your shipment to the ground. No appointment needed.
  • White Glove, $199 flat rate: delivery to the room of your choice (up to 2 staircases), with packaging removed. Appointment required.

Remote areas may have added charges and longer lead times. All deliveries require a signature.

Do you offer local delivery or pickup in Austin?

Yes. Austin-area deliveries are handled by our local delivery partners and are usually scheduled within the week; weekend orders are contacted the following Monday. You can also pick up from our showroom or warehouse Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm. Local delivery rates for sale items may vary.

Who delivers my order?

Orders are shipped and delivered by trusted third-party carriers, including small-parcel services (like FedEx or UPS) and freight delivery partners, depending on the size of your order. Once your order reaches your area, the carrier will contact you to schedule delivery.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll get an email with a tracking number. When it reaches your area, the delivery company will contact you to schedule a date and time.

Returns & Damages

What is your return policy?

Products can be returned for a refund within 30 days of delivery, in the original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer, restocking fees may apply, and the customer is responsible for any damage in transit. Final Sale items (clearance, closeout and floor-model specials) can’t be returned.

Are there restocking fees?

Restocking fees may apply to returned items. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and items must come back in their original packaging. See our Shipping & Returns page for full details.

My furniture arrived damaged. What should I do?

Photograph the cartons before unwrapping, even if nothing looks wrong. Don’t refuse the shipment. Note any visible damage on the carrier’s Bill of Lading, take clear photos of the damage and the PO label, and keep all packaging. Email everything to info@worldinteriors.com within 15 days of delivery. Most claims are resolved within 48–72 hours.

Is a crack, knot or color variation a defect?

Usually not. Our furniture is made from natural materials, so knots, grain and color differences, mineral streaks, fine surface checking, color-matched filler and marble veining are part of each piece’s character. Before filing a claim, please review our Cosmetic Standards.

Sustainability

How is your furniture made sustainably?

World Interiors is the retail home of HTD (Home Trends & Design), which has put responsible sourcing and safer chemistry at the center of how it builds for over 20 years. We use fast-growing, regularly replanted hardwoods like mango, acacia and sheesham, along with reclaimed teak.

Do you use copper arsenic or toxic wood treatments?

No. Copper arsenic is dangerous for artisans and harmful to the soil. Our wood is protected from boring insects with borax, which is safe to handle and doesn’t build up in the environment. Our finishes are non-flammable and chosen to help prevent groundwater contamination.

What is the Mango Foundation?

The Mango Foundation is the reforestation and clean-water initiative founded by our parent company, HTD. For 15 years it has planted one tree for every table.

Product Care

A little care goes a long way. These guidelines help you protect your World Interiors pieces so they age beautifully for years to come.

Solid Wood

Real wood responds to sunlight, heating and cooling, and climate, which can cause checking, cracking or panel shrinkage. These are natural responses, not defects.

  • Clean with a cloth dampened in warm water and mild soap; wipe spills promptly.
  • Use a non-wax polish. Avoid products with ammonia, oil or silicone, which can damage the finish.
  • Use placemats and coasters under hot dishes and drinks to prevent clouding.
  • Apply a light lemon oil if the wood looks dry. Raw or antique finishes: dust only.
Marble & Natural Stone
  • Use a neutral cleaner made for stone. Never use acid- or bleach-based products.
  • Dust regularly with a clean, damp, lint-free cloth.
  • Always use a trivet or coaster under hot items.
  • Wipe spills immediately. Stone is porous and can stain.
Leather & Suede

Natural lines, scuffs and variations are part of leather’s character. Clean with a soft white cloth only, no detergents or chemicals. Keep leather out of direct sun and away from heat vents, and blot spills right away and let them air-dry. Avoid baking soda, vinegar, nail polish remover, glass cleaner, disinfectant wipes and bleach.

Upholstery

Keep out of direct sunlight, rotate cushions regularly, vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment, and have pieces professionally cleaned periodically. Check the cleaning code on your piece: W water-based cleaner only, S solvent-based cleaner only, S/W either. Don’t over-wet, and don’t remove covers for dry-cleaning.

Cast Iron
  • Wipe with water and a mild detergent, rinse, and dry completely with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Treat any rust with a wire brush, then wipe dry.
  • Seal with a coat of clear polyurethane.
Bone Inlay
  • Dust regularly with a dry microfiber cloth; use a soft toothbrush for carved details.
  • Clean gently with a damp cloth and mild soap. Over-cleaning dulls the inlay.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, moisture and hot objects on the surface.
  • Fill fine scratches with colorless beeswax.
